Amazon.com
The world's smallest, most advanced laser rangefinder, the Bushnell Tour V2 weighs just 6.6 ounces and is accurate from 5 to 1000 yards. It's equipped with PinSeeker technology to combine pinpoint accuracy and consistency enabling you to range up to 300 yards (±1 yard) to the flag without the use of reflectors.
Designed exclusively with the bottom of the cup in mind, Bushnell's Pinseeker mode allows easy acquisition of the flag without inadvertently capturing background target distances. When more than one object is acquired, the closer of the two objects is shown on the LCD screen.
Powered by a 3-volt battery, the ultra-compact Tour V2 boasts a 5x magnification and features a rubber armoring, making it easy to grip. It also comes with a premium carrying case. The Tour V2 is legal for tournament play and for posting of scores for handicap purposes. Other features include distance readings in both yards and meters and standard SCAN mode, which allows you to pan across the landscape while viewing a continuously updated LCD display of the distances between you and the targets you scan..

How a Laser Rangefinder Works
Bushnell's Yardage Pro rangefinders use an invisible, eye-safe Class 1 Laser beam (as classified by the FDA) which is "bounced" off distant objects with the press of a button. Then, the rangefinder's high-speed digital clock measures the time it took for a laser beam to reach a target and return to the unit. Next, using advanced digital electronics, the rangefinder instantly calculates the distance within ±1 yard and shows the range in either yards or meters on a through-the-lens LCD Display. The entire process is so fast that less than a second elapses between the time you press the button to generate a laser beam to the time the exact range to your target is displayed.

I have used the V2 a few times now and it is simple to use, easy to read (even for an old guy) and is very accurate. I am very happy with the performance.
Update on 10/29/12: The battery lasted roughly 20 rounds or so. One drawback is that there is no low battery indicator. It just acted wacky all of a sudden until I changed the battery. Probably a good idea to carry a spare battery. I am still amazed at how it has helped me hit to the right distance. Still worth 5 stars.
After reading some of the reviews here on Amazon, I was pleasantly surprised at how quickly the V2 generated its readings. The viewfinder makes it easy to center on your target. There is the occasional mis-read for an object behind the target (generally trees behind a flag) but you quickly become accustomed to taking a reading at the front of the green and then the flag if you ever question the reading. It takes just a few seconds and you become increasingly confident in what constitutes a good reading. It is very good on standard flags and exceptional on flags with built in reflectors. You can read off of just about anything (e.g. players on the green, carts, irrigation boxes, trees, etc). So you have a variety of options to determine yardage and the occasional 'bailout' location.
The size is great and can be used single handed for most readings under 200 yards and dual handed for readings over 200 yards just for stabilization. An added bonus is the 7x magnification. I have found myself using the V2 just to see where a ball ends up on or near the green (these old eyes not working like they used to).
The biggest difference over the SkyCaddie is the ability to get exact readings off of various target points on the course; whether it is a bunker or creek or other hazard. With the SkyCaddie there always appeared to be a bit of 'wiggle room' depending on how well the course was mapped or the number of satellites your device was tying in to. With the V2 you just point and click and you know exactly the yardage you need to carry or lay up to. That aspect alone has saved me one to two strokes each round I've used the range finder as it has kept me from overshooting my layup location or under-clubbing when trying to carry a hazard.
For those considering the switch from a GPS based device to a laser range finder, I highly recommend making the switch. The only caution is if you tend to spray the ball quite a bit and find yourself behind a lot of trees or otherwise don't have good line of sight to your target, you may want to stick with the GPS. For me, it was the best decision I've made in golf equipment purchases (which I had done it several renewals ago).

Nein.
